The First "Zero Tariff" Imported Carrier Was Cleared at Yangpu Port

Haikou Customs released the news on April 23 that the ship imported by Hainan Yangpu Hongkun Shipping Co., Ltd. was successfully cleared and released in Yangpu Port Customs under Haikou Customs, which marked a breakthrough in the "zero tariff" import of ships for operation.

"After we expressed our intention to import ships to the customs, Yangpu Economic Development Zone Customs and Yangpu Port Customs held business coordination meetings for many times to provide policy analysis, customs clearance declaration and other guidance services.  This declared deck cargo vessel worth about 51.98 million yuan was exempted from import duties and import VAT of 12.04 million yuan. Based on the positioning and development direction of the business, the Customs also introduced other relevant policies in detail, which further increase the confidence of enterprises in the free trade port. On December 25, 2020, the "zero tariff" policy for vehicles and yachts in Hainan Free Trade Port came into effect. Enterprises registered in Hainan Free Trade Port with independent legal personality and engaged in transportation and tourism can enjoy "zero tariff" policy when importing ships, vehicles, aircraft and yachts that included in the positive list. Since the implementation of the policy, more than 600 enterprises have passed the "single window" qualification examination of international trade.
