[E-PORTS News] Super Typhoon "Lekima" Approaching the Coast

The ninth typhoon of 2019, “Lekima”, was upgraded to a super typhoon at 23:00 on August 7, and is approaching China’s southeastern coast. It is expected to make landfall along the coast of Zhejiang between late night on August 9 and the early hours of August 10 (typhoon or strong typhoon level, wind level 12-14, wind speed at 35-42m/s). It may become the strongest typhoon hitting China this year. 

According to the National Meteorological Center, the eye of the typhoon may pass through downtown Shanghai from south to north this weekend. Authorities in Japan, the United States and Hong Kong have given similar forecasts, while Taiwanese authorities forecast the eye to dodge Shanghai and follow the coast north. 

 Shanghai will be affected by typhoon weather from August 9 to 11, with winds gradually increasing to level 8-10. Areas along the coast, along the Yangtze River and to the east of its mouth will see winds reaching level 11-12, while Yangshan Port and coastal parts of Shanghai may see winds reaching level 12-14. In the late evening or night of August 11, the winds will weaken gradually. Throug the weekend, Lekima and the upper tropospheric through will together bring large-scale torrential rains along the eastern coast of China, including Liaoning, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and other places. 

 Wuliubaba reports that the world’s largest shipping company, Maersk, has issued an internal notice suspending any new shipping documents from Shanghai’s Yangshan Port on August 9. They will neither accept requests to change collection points for any containers currently stored at the port’s terminals. They will not pick up or return any containers starting August 9. 

 Hyundai Merchant Marine and Shanghai COSCO Shipping also issued notices calling on relevant parties to retrieve containers according to the arranged pick-up points. 

 Shanghai’s Zhendong terminal and Pudong container terminal also announced suspending operations from afternoon on August 8 on their official WeChat accounts. For more information, please consult the Shanghai International Port Group’s official website. 

 Winds in the waters off southern Zhejiang Province will reach level 8-10 on August 8 due to the typhoon. The Zhejiang Meteorological Center issued a typhoon warning 17:00 on the 7, while the Zhejiang Flood Control Center initiated level IV typhoon emergency response measures at 18:00 on the same day. Ningbo Port is currently bundling empty containers, while the yards will begin bundling by noon on August 9. 

 最强台风“利奇马”即将登陆，码头推迟开港，船公司停止放箱 

 今年第9号台风“利奇马”已于8月7日23时加强为超强台风级，正一步步向着我国东南沿海靠近，可能9号夜间至10日凌晨到上午将在浙江沿海登陆（台风级或强台风级12-14级，35-42米/秒），或成为今年以来登陆我国最强的台风。 

 中央气象台对“利奇马”最新预计路径显示，它的台风中心可能在本周末由南向北直穿上海市中心城区。而日本、美国、中国香港的气象预测也认为“利奇马”会登陆上海，台湾地区的预测认为其中心会擦过上海，在近海北上。 

 9日起上海市风力将逐渐增大，9-11日陆地最大阵风可达8-10级，长江口区西部以及沿江沿海地区可达10-11级，长江口区东部可达11-12级，洋山港区和上海市沿海海面的阵风可达12-14级，11日夜里开始风力逐渐减小。周末两天，“利奇马”和东移而来的高空槽共同合作，给我国东部沿海，包括辽宁、山东、江苏、上海、浙江等地带来大范围的暴雨到大暴雨。 

 据物流巴巴消息，目前，全球最大船公司马士基已发出内部通知，将于明日停止上海洋山港的放单，并且不接受所有箱型从码头更改提箱点的要求，届时将无法提箱、还箱。 

 现代商船对客户发出提前提箱通知，上海中远海运也于今日发出通知，呼吁大家根据指定的提箱点抓紧提箱。 

 上港振东码头、上海浦东国际集装箱码头也于8日下午在其官方微信公众号上分别发布推迟开港公告与推迟出口箱开港，具体船舶的开港计划请实时关注港航纵横网站。 

 受“利奇马”影响，8日浙江南部沿海海面风力也将达到8-10级。浙江省气象台于7日17时发布海上台风警报，浙江省防指于7日18时启动防台风Ⅳ级应急响应。目前宁波港已开始捆扎空箱，宁波的堆场则将于明天中午开始捆扎。
