DP World will Introduce Automatic Vehicles to JA Port

Port operator DP World, in cooperation with Dubai-based professional company DG World for autonomous cars, robots and artificial intelligence, has equipped Jebel Ali PORT (hereinafter referred to as JA Port) with a complete set of internal automatic cargo terminals.

The deal includes all relevant integration of the existing operational processes and infrastructure of DP World flagship port. DG World said in a press release that DG World would deliver and integrate autonomous technologies for the existing fleet of internal terminals in stages to improve the overall efficiency of terminals and reduce the size of existing terminals, but the specific contract price was not disclosed.

Mohammed Al Muallem, chief executive officer and managing director of DP World, said: "we will use today's cutting-edge technologies such as robots, automation, internet of things, big data, virtual reality and network security to improve our overall work efficiency."

Through this project, DP World is in a leading position in introducing self-driving cars and related technologies into daily operations.

Bilal Al-Zoubi, founder and chief executive officer of DG World, said, "our previous experiments on new technologies have proved that artificial intelligence software solutions have the potential to improve efficiency and automate existing container terminals."

The company first developed an automatic container truck in 2016. DG World makes full use of industry 4.0 and internet of things technology，and is committed to developing and implementing fully autonomous artificial intelligence technology and autonomous and advanced robot systems.

This is very consistent with DP World's move and strategy to introduce digitalization and latest technology as the new global standard for traditional port operations and supply chains.
