On September 10, World Maritime News reported that The Panama Canal and the Port of Rotterdam signed a Memorandum Understanding (MOU) to promote international trade between Europe and the West Coast of South America.

 On September 12, Hellenic Shipping News reported that China would allow the import of soymeal livestock feed from Argentina for the first time under a deal announced by Buenos Aires on Tuesday, an agreement that will link the world’s top exporter of the feed with the top global consumer.

 On September 12, Splash 247 reported that Evergreen has confirmed a major newbuilding project which involves the construction of ten 23,000 teu containerships at three shipyards, six ships at Samsung Heavy Industries, and two ships each at China’s Jiangnan Shipyard and Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
