CALLING ALL ENTREPRENEURS! Think the shipping industry needs innovation and new ideas? The Young Professionals in Shipping Network (YPSN) has launched a startup competition to be held in Hong Kong on 19 November 2019! Whether you have a brilliant idea and have just put pen to paper, or your startup is in the growth stage, this is the competition for you! You will have the chance to pitch your idea on an international stage, with direct access to investors, mentors, and industry leaders, as well as cash prizes of USD25,000. JOIN NOW! What Is The Captain's Table?

The Captain’s Table is a global start-up competition launched by YPSN (HK) Ltd to connect innovators and startup entrepreneurs with the maritime and logistics industry. It aims to promote Hong Kong as a startup hub, raise awareness of Hong Kong as a vibrant international maritime centre, and provide a platform to connect the industry with innovators and entrepreneurs.

Global applicants are invited from around the world to submit ideas on five main areas: Platform and Software as a service, Deeptech, Fintech & Insuretech, Education and Environment, Sustainability by 31 July 2019. The entries will be shortlisted throughout the year with the five best ideas being presented at a live final where they will compete to win a seat at the Captain’s Table. It will be held at the Asia Society on Tuesday 19th November 2019, during Hong Kong Maritime Week.

Apart from the finalists being flown to Hong Kong to present their ideas to the industry, there will also be the chance to access a great ecosystem, mentors and potential investment opportunities. As well as USD25,000 for the winner!

Who Can Apply?

✓ Individuals or teams

✓ Seed startups in the concept and protype stage and growth stage startups looking to scale up

✓ Startups possessing a groundbreaking and innovative service or product for the maritime and logistics industry

✓ Startups that see Hong Kong as a potential base to expand their business
