25 Lives Lost in Fire Aboard Foreign-Flagged Vessel Under Repair

According to official public notifications, a fire broke out on a foreign-flagged cargo ship undergoing routine dock maintenance in Qingdao at 11:15 on 10 September 2026.

A total of 42 workers were on-board when the incident took place, as confirmed by the Qingdao Fire and Rescue Bureau and CSSC official announcements.

Following the fire alarm, on-site teams immediately initiated evacuation and search-and-rescue operations. 12 personnel safely evacuated, and 5 injured workers received hospital treatment with stable vital signs.

Tragically, by 19:24 on 10 September, all remaining 25 missing persons had been located, but were confirmed deceased.
